In 2007 and 2008, FML worked with 8 teams of students from local Secondary Schools in Project X which saw the students manage and record a band from their own school.
Project X culminated in a Gig and CD launch at Motherwell Concert Hall. CDs and DVDs were available of the recording and the show on the night of the gig and the ticket sales were fantastic. Real Radio sponsored the evening and provided the MC on the night.
2008’s event took place on Friday, March 14th at Motherwell Civic Centre. 11 Schools took part and we had another fantastic gig.

A team of enterprise students are put forward from schools. These pupils decided business roles for themselves, either as ‘Management’ or ‘Record Company’. They then have the responsibility of identifying and choosing the band, musicians or solo artist with whom they feel they could work.
The teams are asked to work in conjunction with the music, art and graphics departments in the schools, with support from the enterprise officers.
Each of the acts gain valuable recording experience in a fully professional environment and appeared with a finished product in the form of a CD and DVD.
